ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Catacombs was one of Houston’s most important rock-and-roll clubs of the late 1960s and early 1970s. It opened in April 1966 to provide entertainment for teenagers between the ages of fifteen and twenty. The club consisted of two large divided rooms with a main stage and a second stage. In 1970 the Catacombs closed.
