World's Biggest Melon Festival!!!
Let's be friends!
Thanks to Chinchilla Melon Festival for allowing me to film this crazy fun event! I had a blast the whole weekend, you could not wipe the smile from my face.
Chinchilla is a country town about 5 hours drive west of Brisbane, Australia. They grow 25% of Australia's water melons, so once every 2 years the town gets together, including a couple of thousand of city folk, and they celebrate what makes this town the town that it is. The next Melon Festival will be held early 2015 so make sure you get out there for an experience that you won't get anywhere else!
Also, thank you to Kay from the Chinchilla Anglican Church for providing accommodation for my mum and I. Yeah. I went with my mum. So what...

This was shot on a Canon 5D Mark III, with a Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L series lens. There was so much melon juice flying everywhere it was hard to keep my lens clean. I spent most of that night cleaning all my gear, but it was totally worth it!
And the 'smooth' shots were done using a Glidecam HD 4000.
I spent most of the day trying not slip over as the ground was covered in melons and melon juice, so the 'smooth' shots weren't as smooth as I was hoping.
